A native Australian, Tim has devoted his life to the study and training of horses both here and abroad. He graduated from the Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga, Australia with a Bachelor’s of Science in Equine Studies. He has since traveled the globe learning from the masters of the equine world. In 1994, after graduating from college he came here to Rancho la Querencia to be a working student. While he lived here, he assisted with breeding and learned about Holsteiner bloodlines with Betty McElvain. He worked young horses and assisted Guy McElvain in training future show jumpers.

From here, he went on to study horse training and breeding techniques around the world with Jean Philippe Giacomini, a master of the Nuno Oliveras’ teaching. In France, he fixed problem horses at Chateau La Font Du Broc. He rode with Mr. Francisco Abreu, Head Coach and FEI Instructor in Portugal. He has also worked as a Head Trainer in Canada, Mexico and Spain.

In 1998, Tim invented a time saving device for breeders and foal handlers. The “Control-A-Foal” is a revolutionary design which gives the handler the ability to establish an injury free training system. It is available online at various internet outlets worldwide!

During the last decade, Tim has spent the majority of his time training dressage horses and race horses at Kooringal Stud in Wagga Wagga, Australia. There he was in charge of the education of all the young horses and their preparation for sale. Management of stallion, mare and foal care was also in Tim’s hands. It was there that Tim was inspired to invent the incredible “Control-A-Foal” system and it is still used there today.

Tim continues to travel the world studying the “Art of Horse Training.” He enjoys the time he gets to spend with incredible horse trainers who excel in their respective disciplines. Tim has trained horses and their riders in many disciplines; including Dressage, Eventing, Bullfighting, Western Pleasure, Reining and Grand Prix Show Jumping. Currently, he is training young Olympic hopefuls for the Rancho Corazon Show Team.

As General Manager here at Rancho Corazon, Tim is involved with all aspects of ranch activity. He supervises horse sales, young horse handling and training, breeding and stallion handling as well as pasture manintance. Feel free to contact him if you are interested in breeding or buying one of our beautiful horses or if you would like a tour of our facilities.
